Madsen and TKS continue forward progress at Knoxville; High Limit and WoO contests next
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (June 5, 2023) - Ian Madsen and Mitchellville, Iowa’s TKS Motorsports are beginning to find some rhythm, checking off a second consecutive top ten at the Sprint Car Capital of the World with a tenth-place score on Saturday, June 3. In all, a prime evening at Knoxville Raceway for the Australia native, activating competition with the 15th-fastest time of 30 during qualifying time trials, following that result with a third-place finish during heat race action; Madsen started 15th before nailing down his second consecutive top ten.
Forward progress has certainly been the underlying theme for Madsen’s last few starts, rallying from 16th to finish eighth on May 27. The ace of the Albaugh - Your Alternative, Iowa Barnstormers, Des Moines Industrial Products, deWit Construction, Jersey Freeze Ice Cream, Freedom Concrete Pumping, Finer Cuts Lawn Care, No. 2KS sprint car will work to put his passing power to good use during the coming weekend, as the World of Outlaws are set to invade Knoxville Raceway on Friday and Saturday, June 9-10.
“We’re making progress and it’s exciting. We’ll test our notes this weekend against the Greatest Show On Dirt,” Troy Renfro, owner of TKS Motorsports, said. “The biggest thing we want to improve is our starting positions. It’s hard to battle for a win when you start deep in the field, especially at a track as competitive as Knoxville. We’ll need to qualify well against the Outlaws if we want to be in the hunt both nights.”
