Giles growing comfortable with TKS Motorsports
By Fully Injected Motorsports:
MITCHELLVILLE, Iowa (May 9, 2022) - Despite their 2022 campaign still in the beginning phases, only making two feature starts since joining efforts, Grimes, Iowa’s Ryan Giles and Mitchellville, Iowa’s TKS Motorsports are continuing to make progress, slowly building a comfort level that will prove beneficial when the team hits some of sprint car racing’s premier events in the coming months.
Most recently, Giles, ace of the Albaugh LLC, Iowa Barnstormers, deWit Construction, No. 2KS sprint car, made his return to the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, May 7, greeted by not only the facility’s weekly warriors, but also a slew of World of Outlaws and All Star Circuit of Champions travelers, all taking advantage of great weather conditions after much of the Mid-Atlantic fell victim to Mother Nature. In all, 43 competitors made the journey to Knoxville, each seeking valuable lap time.
Although TKS Motorsports was forced to battle on an Outlaw-level playing field, they persevered, ultimately qualifying for the evening’s main event before being scored 22nd. Giles kicked-off the program with the 12th-fastest qualifying time in his respective group, driving on to finish third in his respective heat race.
“We’re doing everything we can to make Ryan more and more comfortable in the car and I think that’s beginning to show,” Troy Renfro explained, owner of the TKS Motorsports No. 2KS. “Hats off to this entire team. We’re still learning a lot about each other, but we have the knowledge and the speed to do something special this season. It all starts with lap time and hard work.”
ON DECK:
Ryan Giles and TKS Motorsports will continue their 2022 campaign with another round of action at the famed Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa, on Saturday, May 14: Hy-Vee Night.
